General Information
100% of donated funds go to our restaurant partners to prepare meals and provide economic relief to their employees. OTP is fully organized by volunteers. For every $100 donated, you send 10 meals to our COVID frontline and restore ~3 shift hours to the local community.
We have launched in Boston, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Chicago, Washington DC, and Philadelphia.
In this unprecedented and rapidly evolving time, we’re so grateful for all efforts in the space working to help the medical and restaurant industries. We are achieving best-in-class operational efficiency and safety standards, enabled by making direct relationships with restaurants and specific departments at our health partner locations. Our relationships with restaurants allow us to give them ample lead time to plan their shifts and acquire the right amounts of ingredients, allowing us to pay a low cost of $10 per meal provided. Our relationships with health partners give us clarity into their exact needs, meaning we never over serve or under serve any department on any given day.
Yes, you can designate one of the cities Off Their Plate is currently serving when donating online and offline.
OTP will make best efforts to ensure all donated funds go to the designated cities but reserves the right to distribute funds to ensure continuity across all OTP cities.
Yes, we have collaborated with World Central Kitchen to act as our fiscal agent and strategic partner. World Central Kitchen is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization (EIN 27-3521132).
Safety and Sanitation
We implement strict safety standards, which is possible because we manage the operations, end-to-end. We have worked with a cross-functional group of experts in medicine/science and food preparation to create a brand new set of Covid-specific standard operating procedures, which all restaurant partners are trained on and commit to following.
Our standard operating procedures require sanitation steps during employee arrival and departure, protective equipment during food preparation, and social distancing whenever possible.
Our standard operating procedures require that meal packaging is disinfected, vehicles are disinfected before and after each delivery run, and drivers and assistants adhere to social distancing standards during drop-offs.
